Litmus Policy Solutions is a cohort-based experience focused on South Carolina’s education policy landscape. Cohort participants are leaders in education and will explore avenues for effecting change at the state and district levels, backed by research and informed by practitioners.

In its inaugural year, Litmus will…

  1. Provide informed considerations to SC educator policy conversations.
  2. Build participant knowledge and skills around SC educator pipeline issues.
  3. Create a sustainable model to support policy enthusiasts in hands-on engagement.
  4. Explore focus areas, including educator recruitment and retention and parent/student engagement, through the lens of SC-specific research.

What participants will experience

The Litmus inaugural cohort will network over the course of 18 months through monthly convenings, retreats, and hands-on, real-time policy explorations, aligned with South Carolina’s 2-year legislative cycle.

Participants will convene in a variety of locations and contexts to take part in…

  1. Real district and school impact, helping to shape policies that affect students, educators, and communities across South Carolina.
  2. Hands-on learning, accessing research and participating in policy conversations around critical education challenges and impact on the South Carolina educator pipeline.
  3. Networking opportunities, connecting with fellow education leaders and influencers.
  4. Expert guidance, learning from policymakers, educators, and researchers, while gaining insights into how education policies are implemented and perceived.
  5. Mentorship with ongoing support from influential leaders in the field during (and beyond) their participation.
