Litmus Policy Solutions® is an experience focused on South Carolina’s education landscape, steeped in state-specific research informing policy. The work of Litmus is strengthened by the grounded expertise of South Carolina education leaders.

Through Litmus, participants will...
- Build knowledge and skills around educator pipeline issues and related education policy challenges.
- Engage in hands-on policy learning grounded in South Carolina-centric research and practitioner know-how.
- Provide informed considerations to South Carolina educator policy conversations.
- Build and expand a statewide network of leaders committed to improving outcomes for students, educators, schools, and communities.
What the Litmus team will experience
Litmus brings together an intentionally small team of about 25 leaders whose perspectives shape the quality, authenticity, and usefulness of the work. Over the course of the experience, team members will examine current education policy questions, connect research to practice, and explore avenues for effecting change at the state and district levels.

- Policy and practitioner impact, helping surface considerations that can inform education conversations across South Carolina.
- Hands-on learning, using research, data, and field-based insight to examine critical education challenges.
- Team-based engagement, learning alongside leaders from districts, schools, higher education, associations, agencies, nonprofits, and partner organizations.
- Expert guidance, engaging with policymakers, educators, researchers, and leaders who understand how policy is shaped, implemented, and experienced.
- Applied work, contributing to timely conversations connected to South Carolina’s educator workforce pipeline and broader education policy landscape.

SC TEACHER IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2026–27 LITMUS POLICY SOLUTIONS TEAM
Approximately 25 participants will be selected to contribute their leadership, perspective, and expertise to this statewide policy learning and impact experience. There is no application fee or program fee. Applications are due July 10, 2026, and selection notifications will be sent no later than July 22, 2026.
