This report is SC TEACHER’s first workforce profile to focus on school administrators. Principals and assistant principals play critical roles in shaping a school’s working conditions. Yet, the population is largely understudied. Exploring the demographics of administrators in South Carolina, as well as trend data and national comparisons, is a first step toward better understanding their influence in school ecosystems.
