Exiting teachers from 41 districts participated in the 2025 SC Teacher Exit Survey. This report shares state-level insights into their decisions to leave their positions, whether to change roles, move districts, retire, or leave public education entirely. Additionally, the report unpacks data on teachers’ willingness to return to the classroom, and which considerations would most influence their decision to do so.
