Retention Intentions

The degree to which a school administrator intends to remain in their current role and in the broader profession. In the SC Administrator Working Conditions Survey, retention intentions are captured across three dimensions: intent to remain in South Carolina public education, intent to remain in a school administrator role, and intent to remain as a school leader in their current district. Together, these items reflect administrators’ commitment at the state, professional, and local levels.
